CONTEXT / SHARED MECHANICS, DIFFERENT EMPHASIS

Membra vs Orbio.

We take inspiration from fee-funded inference and transferable credits. Membra’s proposed focus is private execution, scoped verification, and a path toward protected scientific collaboration.

A SOURCE-BASED COMPARISON
REVIEWED 19 OCT 2026

Where the designs overlap and differ.

Orbio’s protocol page already describes tokenized inference for people, agents, and applications: stake ORBIO, earn CREDIT, trade or transfer it, then activate it into API balance. Programmability and agent access are not unique to Membra.

The comparison below describes Orbio’s published protocol page alongside Membra’s proposed architecture. Explanatory diagrams are not evidence of a deployed protocol. No performance, security, or privacy superiority is established here.

DimensionMembra PROPOSED DESIGNOrbio PUBLISHED DOCUMENTATION
Core propositionA planned economic layer for private, verifiable inference; a path toward autonomous agents and protected research.Tokenized inference that can be earned, traded, transferred, and activated; programmatic access for agents.
SettlementEthereum mainnet is the intended settlement layer. No deployment is presented as live. Its CREDIT protocol page documents Robinhood Chain contracts.
ParticipationgMEMBRA as the future governance and staking token, with staking providing a share of fee-funded mCREDIT issuance. Its protocol page describes staking ORBIO to earn CREDIT.
Usage creditsProposed mCREDIT: $1 of usage per credit, activated into API balance. Market pricing in USDC.CREDIT: $1 of Orbio inference, burned into API balance. Its documented exchange uses USDG.
Privacy & verificationA central design goal: protected execution routes and receipts with explicit verification scope. Integrations remain planned. The protocol page describes provider-run models and gateway access. It does not specify an equivalent attestation scope there; that does not establish its absence elsewhere.
Scientific collaborationA long-term research mission: protected evaluation, evidence, and conditional settlement to address Arrow’s disclosure problem. The cited protocol page focuses on inference access, agent funding, and token markets.
StatusProtocol and app in development. Public app access is not open; architecture proposals and research goals are separate from live capabilities.Public protocol documentation lists contracts and integration examples. We have not independently verified security or operation.
